May and June bird walks canceled

The Meadow remains open, however, and we encourage you to enjoy the great outdoors at your leisure.

Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.

Another way to show your support for Connemara

In times like these, more people than ever are re-connecting with nature as a way to address both their mental and physical health. And for many, the Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve has become the place to go to enjoy the beauty and restorative benefits of unspoiled nature.

On Tuesday, May 5, we will be participating in Giving Tuesday Now, the collaborative effort of the Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day, the Dallas Cowboys, and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to raise much needed funds for area non-profit organizations.

Please consider making a donation to the Connemara Conservancy as a way to show your support for our efforts to preserve and protect open space in North Texas.

The good news is that you do not have to wait until May 5 to make your donation. You can make your gift now by visiting our page on NorthTexasGivingDay.org

On September 19 your donation to Connemara will help us qualify for bonus funds and prizes from the Communities Foundation of Texas.

Schedule Your Gift In Advance

To make it even easier to show your support, you can schedule your gift in advance by visiting our page on NorthTexasGivingDay.org at any time beginning September 9.

Entering The Meadow during construction

While construction is taking place, there are three ways to access The Meadow:

  • You can park in front of our gates (not on the street) which are located at the Eastern end of Hedgcoxe (Turn to the East from Alma and drive to the end of Hedgcoxe, our gates are immediately to the right of the house with the purple door.)  After you park, walk around the gates, through the vacant lot, cross the staircase, or walk around it and you will be in the middle of the Upper Meadow.
  • You can turn left on Greensboro when Hedgcoxe ends, park next to the public park at the end of Greensboro, walk across the park to the sidewalk, take a right and walk into the Meadow.
  • Volunteers are at the Meadow on most weekday mornings from 9 a.m. until Noon and you can park in the Alma parking area, walk down the gravel road, cross the bridge (we leave the temp gate open) and walk into the Meadow.
