Celebrating the Meadow with muffins and mimosas

Thank you to everyone who joined us Sunday at Montgomery Farm for our first Muffins and Mimosas for the Meadow. More donations were made to our wine pull at the 2014 Into The Meadow celebration and we made new friends in the process.

Support Connemara and get a clean car

TrademarkLogo

Thanks to our great supporters at the Trademark and Tommy Terrific’s car washes, you can receive a free car wash this month just for donating a bottle of wine to the Wine Pull auction at this year’s Into The Meadow.

Owner Tom Miller and his team have sponsored every Into The Meadow. Now they are expanding their participation by offering a free car wash each Wednesday in August when you donate a bottle of wine worth at least $25. Drop off your bottle on Wednesday at any location to receive your car wash.

Tommy Terrific’s has two locations in Dallas — 5021 Ross Avenue and 3541 Forest Lane. Trademark Car Wash is located at 1007 W McDermott in Allen. All locations have a strong conservation ethic and you can read about their Green Practices here.

If you are a customer of Trademark or Tommy Terrific’s, you know there is nothing like it anywhere. If you’ve never taken advantage of their services, you are in for a treat.

So support Connemara this Wednesday and drive away in a clean car!

“Thank You” Cristina

Winepull1Connemara would like to thank Cristina Lynch for being such a gracious host for our first Wine Pull collection event. A huge crowd turned out for the evening of food and fun. And more than 70 bottles of wine were collected for the Wine Pull at Into The Meadow.

Guests were also able to purchase the beautiful handmade clothing and jewelry on display from Mi Golondrina and GAIA.

We’ll have details soon about our next event.

2014 “Into the Meadow” to feature culinary creations of chef Kent Rathbun

In keeping with the tradition of featuring the area’s premier chefs and caterers, this year’s “Into The Meadow” fundraiser will highlight the culinary creations of award-winning chef Kent Rathbun.

Chef Kent

Chef Kent

Since opening in 1999, Chef Kent’s five-star restaurant, Abacus, has repeatedly been recognized as a pinnacle of fine dining. Accolades include:

  • Bon Appetit’s Best of the Year, which named Abacus’ Chef’s tasting menu a “Top Pick;”
  • “Best Chef” by D Magazine;
  • “One of the Top Meals Around the World” by USA Today;
  • Mobil Four-Stars; and
  • AAA Four Diamonds.

Abacus’ design, wine list and menu have also been recognized and featured in publications such as Elle, Southern Living, Veranda, Texas Monthly, and The Rosie Magazine. In addition, Abacus has been inducted into the Nation’s Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame.

Kent’s second concept, Jasper’s, added a touch of “home cooking” flair to the best of America’s regional cuisine. Since the opening of its first location in Plano and expanding to The Woodlands and Austin, Jasper’s has been named one of Esquire Magazine’s Top 20 Best New Restaurants in America and has been touted by various regional publications.

His newest venture is KB’s in Plano. With a restaurant-style atmosphere, full bar, ample parking and patio fireplace, it has become one of the premier spots for hosting wedding receptions, birthday parties, business functions and more.

Kent’s roots are firmly set in food, starting as an apprentice at La Bonne Auberge, a five-star French restaurant located in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, he worked at Mr. B’s in New Orleans, American Restaurant and Milano in Kansas City, The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas and the Landmark Restaurant in Dallas’ Warwick Melrose Hotel.

He has cooked at the James Beard House in New York on several occasions and was nominated four times as the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef: Southwest. He frequently appears on national TV shows and in 2008 competed on Food Network’s hit series “Iron Chef America” where he defeated grill master Bobby Flay in a frenetic culinary battle.

Chef Kent becomes the latest high profile chef to participate in Into The Meadow. Justin and Diane Fourton of Pecan Lodge catered the first two fundraisers. George Brown of Experimental Table has been the featured chef the past two years. In addition, Patina Green Home and Market provided specialty drinks and hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail reception at the first four Into The Meadow events.

This year’s dinner under the stars celebrating local food, local farms and the beauty of natural space is schedule for Sept. 20. To purchase tickets, Click Here.
